First, Guam is an island filled with culture and friendliness. The sign at the departure gate says it all. A Philippine airlines flight with Russian subtitles on the bottom. Tourist from South Korea, China, Japan, Russia, Australia, the Philippines, etc. all come to this tiny island for some of the worlds best beaches, sunset, shopping, and people. I have absolutely fallen in love with this island in the past year.

The plane itself was like a plane from past years. It was like stepping into a time machine. This airline must have seen a checklist with the ‘minimum requirements’ to fly in the USA and made sure to meet only what is required. I haven’t been on plane that didn’t have any monitors in quite sometime. The dividing wall between first class and economy so the seats just go on and go on. Quite a few seats were not able to recline. As I said, the plane itself was just the bare minimum.

On the plus side (my parents always told me to look for the positives), food was absolutely delicious. Chicken in soy sauce and mushrooms with garlic rice. Though, It would of been nice if I was offered more than one class of water. The Ebola questionnaire was a little unnerving. More to come as I am writing this on my phone. Excuse the grammatical errors.

Typhoon Vongfong Arrives On Guam.

Update 2 4:40 pm.
Weather is clearing up now as Guam is now in COR 4. We dodge a bullet here. Pray for Rota as they shouldered the brunt of the typhoon.

The family has finally experienced our first typhoon on Guam. The eye of the typhoon arrived around 4:00 am. The pictures here are the view from the house. I pray the severity of the typhoon was off the shores of Guam. God bless and watch over the people of Guam and Rota (was much closer to the eye of the storm) with safety and security. Update coming…

I have been living on Guam for a little more than a year and it has finally grown on me.  For the past year all I have been doing to complaining about what Guam doesnt have.  I complain about the things i cannot do here when in fact i should be focusing on what i can be doing.  I love Georgia (still cannot wait to get back) but there is no way i can experience all this back there.  As i was laying in the crystal clear water (7 hour), I finally am enjoying Guam for what it is.  With the clock ticking on our time to head back to Georgia, I found out my love for this island just in the nick of time.  Its time to look at Guam with a new pair of lenses and enjoy paradise. Its amazing how God can place you in such a beautiful place and yet you do not see it. FYI, The sunsets on Guam is evidence that God can make the most beautiful scenery!

Carpool lane?
