God Bless us the next four years

Regardless of how you feel about the incoming president Donald Trump, i invite all of you to say a prayer of blessing to our new President.  There are more things in life that binds us than divides us!

Lord, I ask you that you always keep our country safe and strong.  I pray lord that your WILL be done and that we continue to strive to keep you first in our lives.  In the name of Jesus, I pray for blessings for President Trump and his administration.  I pray for everyone that will be attending the inauguration today.

I pray also for our senators, the men and women of congress, our judges, and state officials.  I pray lord for wisdom and foresight in the job they have to do.

Finally, I pray for the next generation of Americans.  I pray lord that they have a heart that seeks you and a heart for our country.  In Jesus name I pray and in Jesus name i praise…AMEN. -PJSLB

Guam remembers Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor was an event that will live in infamy in the hearts and minds of all Americans.  I can only imagine the horror and confusion that took place on that fateful day.  Actually, i CAN imagine what it was like.  As a son of New York, I know what it is like to see the place you grew up in change in just an instant.

What many people may not realize is that the attacks on that day was not just on Pearl Harbor.  Thousands of miles away west of Hawaii (and a whole lot closer to Japan),  The beautiful island of Guam was attacked as well and became Japanese territory.  You can read a fabulous story about that fateful day on Guam from The Pacific Daily News.

Guam is a hidden gem that every American should visit.  There is no place in the world that delivers the way Guam does.  Guam is a melting pot of American, Asian, and Pacific Island culture and traditions.  Pictures of Guam do not do it justice.  It is much more beautiful in person.

On a day that we remember the lives of those lost at Pearl Harbor, please say a prayer for the people on Guam such as Cleotide Bamba, 84 whose life was also changed on that fateful day despite being thousands of miles away from Pearl Harbor.

In his name we all live. – PJSLB

You can’t deny that younger students pay attention to upperclassman. Look at this first grader and senior. The older generation leading the new generation. This little girl (my youngest) sees how the older girl is standing still and and being respectful during the national anthem and prayer at Tattnall Square Academy in Macon, Georgia and begins to follow her. People are always watching. People are always looking for role models. No matter who you are, no matter what you have gone thru, the Lord can use you to change the life of others. If this pic was not taken, this young lady would never know just how much of a influence she is already.

I’ll keep the young lady’s name anonymous until I get permission to reveal it. She has an amazing story that I pray she will allow me to share. Who knows, maybe she can write it herself here and share it with all of you.

Have a blessed weekend and may the Holy Spirit lead you to life changing moments. PJSLB

A “small” city with “big” sights.

Gods beauty here in Greenville!

Visiting some friends here in Greenville, South Carolina for a couple of days and needed some things to do to kill time. Actually, my daughters needed some things to do to kill time.  I heard about the Greenville zoo and that it was a good way to make a couple of hours pass by.  I was not expecting much…but I was shocked
(good way) at the quality of the zoo and the types of animals they have.  The Greenville zoo has your obligatory snakes, giraffes, gators, birds, but also has animals you may not even have heard of (do you know what a “Rhea” is).  More pics coming from the Greenville zoo BUT in the meantime, I think this Lion pic is a good preview.

We also visited the Falls Park at Reedy and it was absolutely beautiful.  I was told it was man made and if so, I believe every city should make something like this.  With a modern bridge that crosses a fountain like area, the family and I easily spent a couple of hours here feeding the wildlife (geese, ducks, swans, etc) and enjoying the scenery.  There is quite a few things happening all at the same time from Shakespeare at the Park, line dancing, and even a band.  Great job city of Greenville!
