Filipino Recording Artist TALA is putting me in a good mood

For the past week, I have been missing the Philippines.  I was not born there but its where my families history started and in time, I have been very affectionate to the country.

While searching Apple Music, I came across an artist, TALA.  Normally, I skip new artist and go striaght to the hitmakers of my time like RIVERMAYA, ERASERHEADS, ETC. but this time i decided to click on it.  Boy was i glad i did.

A song called Labi played and within the first 10 seconds, i was hooked.  It was like hearing Erykah Badu singing filipino.

Needless to say, i will definitely be listening to her other songs.  Have a blessed day everyone.

A Little Christian Perspective On Life

For the past month, I have been so preoccupied with earthly problems. The problem with earthly problems is that is takes away focus from what is really important.  All the time I have worried about earthly situations have prevented me from focusing on furthering the kingdom of God.

What about you?  Have you been preoccupied with temporary things that have taken your eyes off what is eternal? Let’s all get back to keeping our eyes focused on God.

Greetings from a hot Manila!

Shutting Down Internet and Cell Service During Pope’s Visit To The Philippines?

I woke up this morning and saw this post on my Facebook wall.  Reading the comments, it seems that a lot of people were suffering cell phone service outages.  Some even thought that is was due to a fully SIM and were removing and inserting the sim.  This morning, my cousin received this alert from SMART Communications in the Philippines.

First, Guam is an island filled with culture and friendliness. The sign at the departure gate says it all. A Philippine airlines flight with Russian subtitles on the bottom. Tourist from South Korea, China, Japan, Russia, Australia, the Philippines, etc. all come to this tiny island for some of the worlds best beaches, sunset, shopping, and people. I have absolutely fallen in love with this island in the past year.

The plane itself was like a plane from past years. It was like stepping into a time machine. This airline must have seen a checklist with the ‘minimum requirements’ to fly in the USA and made sure to meet only what is required. I haven’t been on plane that didn’t have any monitors in quite sometime. The dividing wall between first class and economy so the seats just go on and go on. Quite a few seats were not able to recline. As I said, the plane itself was just the bare minimum.

On the plus side (my parents always told me to look for the positives), food was absolutely delicious. Chicken in soy sauce and mushrooms with garlic rice. Though, It would of been nice if I was offered more than one class of water. The Ebola questionnaire was a little unnerving. More to come as I am writing this on my phone. Excuse the grammatical errors.
