Regardless of how you feel about the incoming president Donald Trump, i invite all of you to say a prayer of blessing to our new President. There are more things in life that binds us than divides us!
Lord, I ask you that you always keep our country safe and strong. I pray lord that your WILL be done and that we continue to strive to keep you first in our lives. In the name of Jesus, I pray for blessings for President Trump and his administration. I pray for everyone that will be attending the inauguration today.
I pray also for our senators, the men and women of congress, our judges, and state officials. I pray lord for wisdom and foresight in the job they have to do.
Finally, I pray for the next generation of Americans. I pray lord that they have a heart that seeks you and a heart for our country. In Jesus name I pray and in Jesus name i praise…AMEN. -PJSLB
My prayer life has gotten a stagnant. Sure, I pray with my daughters at night and I love doing that but after a long day and i am tired, I may go straight to bed without even praying.
In 2013, I read the bible from cover to cover using a yearly planner. 2014 was the highlight of my faith in that I was never stronger in my relationship with the Lord. I prayed constantly, talked with God often and trust him thru the good times and the bad. 2014 was such a challenge but those intimate talks with God really put me at ease.
Fast words to the last few remaining days of 2016, i have everything i have prayed for in 2014 but my conversations with Christ is significantly less. If you have been following the blog you are fully aware of the challenges i have been facing the last few days.
This morning, I decided it was time to reconnect to my source. I downloaded my Olive Tree Bible app on my phone, mac, and ipad and started another year long journey. I tell you what…i was so refreshed after reading day one. It was such a spiritual high. I then got on my knees and prayed like it was 2014 and I felt right at home.
My resolve is to bring back the days when my conversations with Christ was my lifeline. In doing so, I firmly believe that God will truly reveal his plans for me and also allow me to better write on this blog. Have a blessed day everyone. In Jesus name we all live on! -PJSLB
(update) this was written during the last week of 2016. Im happy to say that the Lord has always been faithful thru the good times and the bad. -PJSLB
I love words. I love how words can bring out emotions that just would not come up from a visual perspective. Words allow you to use your emotions and imaginations. From the days of my parents reading to me a bedtime story, to the days of reading my favorite author – Sidney Sheldon, words always captivated me. Naturally, the words of the Bible is the biggest inspiration to me. Just before the holiday season, I came across the voice of Natalie Grant while listening to K-Love. King of the World is one of those songs that just connects you to God. The instruments in the background is soft and reflective…but its the lyrics and content of the song that got to me.
I tried to fit you in the walls inside my mind I try to keep you safely in between the lines I try to put you in the box that I’ve designed I try to pull you down so we are eye to eye
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world? I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world How could I make you so small When you’re the one who holds it all When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world
Just a whisper of your voice can tame the seas So who am I to try to take the lead Still I run ahead and think I’m strong enough When you’re the one who made me from the dust
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world? I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world How could I make you so small When you’re the one who holds it all When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world
Oh, you set it all in motion Every single moment You brought it all to me And you’re holding on to me
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world? I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world How could I make you so small When you’re the one who holds it all When did I forget you’ve always been the king of the world You will always be the king of the world
Just reading those lyrics give me chills. In life, we try to make moves in our life to better our current situation and sometimes that leads us into thinking we know better than God; i am not innocent in that as well. I think i know better and i try to “make moves” when in reality my “moves” are just making my blessings take a little longer. King of the World is a reminder that God is indeed the Alpha and Omega and in no way can i do ANYTHING without him
I could not find an official version of the original song but this acoustic version will give you just as much chills.
If you have Apple music, you can find the album simply by searching Natalie Grant – BE ONE. For iTunes users can go here. Finally, if you use Spotify you can find it here.
The more I read about The Redemption of Gavin Stone the more I can’t wait to watch this movie. Too many times in today’s society we are surrounded by negativity and violence that when a movie comes along that inspires, we should all take notice.
It doesn’t hurt that one of my favorite wrestlers growing up plays a huge role in the film. Shawn Michaels personal story is one that shows just how much our Lord loves us.
The Redemption of Gavin Stone hits movie theaters on January 20, 2017. -PJSLB
