Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:6
My absolute favorite verse in the bible. From 6th grade worrying about friends, 8th grade worrying about high school, and now being an adults worrying about my family; this verse speaks to whatever stage you are in your life.
Some translations use WORRY while others use ANXIOUS. The thing is; arent the two one and the same. Worry leads to you being anxious and vice versa. In my life, i have used this verse in the literal sense. I would plead (petition) my case and in doing so at a young age, it has shapped the way i pray to God. My prayers are personal and intimate. Trust Me…Listen to Bobby McFerrin and DONT WORRY BE HAPPY!!!.
Today, I felt something that i have not felt in a very long time. This morning, i felt anxious. Feeling anxious is something i battled with for a very long time. As i grew older and my faith in Christ grew as well, the space were being anxious resided was replaced by the grace of God. This morning (and last night), i found my heart racing a little faster and i even had a “gagging” reflex. It was scarry in that being anxious is something i do not want to live in again.
As i contemplate why i feel like this, i realize that i have gotten a little to comfortable with life here on earth. Being comfortable meant less time reading the word of God and talking to God. Worrying comes when you do not remember that God is with you. For just a split second, i forgot that and it was eating me inside.
David Dunn says it best…I WANNA GO BACK!!! PJSLB
Yes, it is okay to lose your cool; keeping in mind that you are human. You were not meant to be prfect (but human) and our God does not expect such. What is expected is that you relize your faults and “move on.” The mistake is not being mad but staying mad. PJSLB
For the record, everyone here at NeedTheSpirit has been a fan of Lauren Daigle since day one. From her album – Look Up Child to the inspiration of How Can It Be, Lauren has always been a go to when our spirits need “filling up”
On May 1, 2019 something amazing happened. With just under eight million people watching their TV’s we see Lauren standing on top of a small platform, ready to perform her hit You Say. What happens next will take your breath away.
It sends shivers down my spine to know that millons of people around the world are listening to this song. I am not exargerating when i say this. Despite the Billboard Awards having performances from mega superstarts such as The Jonas Brother and Mariah Carey, it was Luaren’s performance that was the most “Shazamed” act of the night.
What an inspiring night that will be in the minds and hearts of millions of people for years to come. God Bless PJSLB
