My dad is 70 plus but still swinging it straight and long. He just has to put a little more “oomph” into the swing! PJSLB
Natalie Grant – King of the World
I love words. I love how words can bring out emotions that just would not come up from a visual perspective. Words allow you to use your emotions and imaginations. From the days of my parents reading to me a bedtime story, to the days of reading my favorite author – Sidney Sheldon, words always captivated me. Naturally, the words of the Bible is the biggest inspiration to me. Just before the holiday season, I came across the voice of Natalie Grant while listening to K-Love. King of the World is one of those songs that just connects you to God. The instruments in the background is soft and reflective…but its the lyrics and content of the song that got to me.
I tried to fit you in the walls inside my mind
I try to keep you safely in between the lines
I try to put you in the box that I’ve designed
I try to pull you down so we are eye to eye
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world
Just a whisper of your voice can tame the seas
So who am I to try to take the lead
Still I run ahead and think I’m strong enough
When you’re the one who made me from the dust
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world
Oh, you set it all in motion
Every single moment
You brought it all to me
And you’re holding on to me
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget you’ve always been the king of the world
You will always be the king of the world
Just reading those lyrics give me chills. In life, we try to make moves in our life to better our current situation and sometimes that leads us into thinking we know better than God; i am not innocent in that as well. I think i know better and i try to “make moves” when in reality my “moves” are just making my blessings take a little longer. King of the World is a reminder that God is indeed the Alpha and Omega and in no way can i do ANYTHING without him
I could not find an official version of the original song but this acoustic version will give you just as much chills.

Same business trip, different country.
Well it’s been about 8 months but I am back in the air. Part of the reason for coming back to the States was to travel less and be with the family more. Here are some texts during the two day trip.
2:44 am – Hi. I am going to get ready to leave now. Everyone is still sleeping. Love you.
3:15 am – in the name of Jesus as I stand in front of my girls as they sleep, I pray that the Holy Spirit bless them with a father that loves you, lives to please you and follow wherever you lead me.
3:40 – hi. I’m now at the groome a transportation waiting for my shuttle to Atlanta. love you.
4:07 am – Hi girls. I’m now in the shuttle heading to Atlanta now. love you.
5:15 am – Hello again. 😊 I’m at the airport now in line for security. love you.
7:00 am – Hi girls. I’m in the plane now and have to shut off phone. I’ll turn it on again around 9 am and will call you when you girls get home from school. love you. God bless you.
10:05 am – Hi. I’m now at Washington waiting for my shuttle to take me to the airport. The airport in Washington first really look nice. The airport on Guam is nicer. love you.
I took this picture around mid afternoon and it was just something that moved me. As I was siting in the park waiting for my hotel shuttle, I overheard a little boy wanting to play catch with his dad. I hear the dad agree and soon afterwards I hear the sound of a football traveling in the air. I look up and my jaw when I saw the”dad” who was throwing the ball. It was an old man around hi late 50’s and he was wearing suit. Now mind you, this wasn’t a cheap suit you can get for for $100.00. This was a high quality suit. It warmed my heart to see a dad take time out of their busy schedule to put a smile on his sons face. I guarantee that’s it will be dry-cleaned by the end of the week.
7:49 am – Good morning girls. I heard you all enjoyed Zootopia. I wish I had a chance to watch with everyone. Mom said she was so tired and went to sleep in the movie theater. Lol. Well, I am dressed up and going to get breakfast. My day start at 8:45 and will end around 5:00 pm. Hey, the college I went to Seton Hall made it to their conference finals… I AM SO HAPPY FOR THIS! Have a great day…love you…God bless you…and I’ll call during lunch time.
Needless to say that my family is on my mind always. God bless us all! Till next time.
A Fathers Prayer For His Children
As I sit here on the the edge of my daughters bed here on the beautiful island of Guam, I am aware of your love for me and my family. The quietness of the night with a hint of Jim Brickman playing in the background has set the mood of reflection. I see peace in the eyes of my children. When they talk, I hear happiness and hope. When I ask my kids “who is the one person you love more than mom and dad?” I am proud to hear them say JESUS! You have given them everything they need in life. At such a young age, I can already see you working in them. All the blessings I have coming to me…lord, redirect them to my kids. They are wiser than I ever was or will be. I have wasted many opportunities that you have given me. I promise I will see to it that the kids continue to know where all their blessings come from and teach them to be bold to use it. In Jesus name amen.
