Prayers for El Paso

Father, tonight I pray for peace that can only come from you. I pray for our country and I pray for strength. Tensions are high and we have more questions than answers. We have aching hearts for our brothers and sisters in El Paso. We pray for peace and we act in love. PJSLB

Who among us is going after the lost sheep

Lost Sheep

Luke 15:1, 3-4
“Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear him…Then Jesus told them this parable: ‘Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?”

Are we actively pursuing “lost sheep”?

Are we willing to leave behind our friendships, social network, family and even church involvements to pursue, go after lost sheep?

Are we willing to go after lost sheep until they are found?

This re-orientation of priorities is radical and rare among God’s people. The lost sheep are the “low hanging fruit.” They know what it means to follow the Shepherd; they once grazed next to us, but now they have wondered off.

Who is pursuing them?

Who is going after them?

Jesus was on a mission to pursue lost sheep. He still is.

Lord Jesus, fill me with your love for people who have wandered away from your family. I desire to live on your mission and not just for myself.

It’s hard to go after lost sheep when you are judgmental. Love one another as Jesus has taught us. That will open the door to all. PJSLB

Why listen to people you don’t even like

It’s amazing the power we give to people we don’t even like. The more you care about the opinions of others, the more you take from yourself.

Have a great weekend everyone. Be blessed. PJSLB
