Allow yourself to be used as an instrument by God. Allow God to place you in situations that may not be comfortable but will provide someone out there an opportunity to know Christ.
That is easy to say but tough to do. This is something that i am dealing with at the moment. Yes, its the right thing to do to put yourself out there. ITs another thing to actually do it. I pray that this week, i have the energy and courage to place my faith out there for all to see so that in my actions, others may see Christ.
Have a great week everyone and sorry to all the Falcons fans out there!!! -PJSLB
Today, some of my students will be playing their first tennis match and im excited and nervous for them. I have a tradition of writing a short note and sharing some words of encouragement to them that is personal and unique to just them. Below are some of the quotes i used this year.
Please say a prayer for these young/future leaders of our church as they play their first match. I pray that regardless of the score and outcome, that they always seek and reflect God’s glory. Im nervous for them!!! -PJSLB
Was not really looking forward to this week. With my teams seasons starting and the beginning of the school year, it’s been one long hectic week.
I arrived in the morning to my office, turned on my lights and computer, and began focusing on my day and the potential land mines that lay ahead. As I looked down on my desk calendar, I saw two notes that just made me day.
It’s amazing how just 11 words can change how you feel. I thank you lord for these words and the gentle reminder that though i am tired, I need to always be on my game. I am serving you and I am you ambassador while I am here on earth.
While in Washington D.C. on a business trip, I saw this and it was just something that moved me. As I was siting in the park waiting for my hotel shuttle, I overheard a little boy wanting to play catch with his dad. I hear the dad agree and soon afterwards I hear the sound of a football traveling in the air. I look up and my jaw dropped when I saw the”dad” who was throwing the ball. It was an old man around his late 50’s and he was wearing suit. Now mind you, this wasn’t a cheap suit you can get for for $100.00. This was a high quality suit. It warmed my heart to see a dad take time out of his busy schedule to put a smile on his sons face. I guarantee that it will be dry-cleaned by the end of the week. What an example of taking time for the important things in life.
