The tough question to answer.

Part of being a Christian is being able to look deep within yourself and with the help of the Holy Spirit, answer the tough questions.  Here is the question that is in my heart today:

What am I willing to do without to better serve the lord?

  • Am I willing to give up money?  Work less so I won’t be a slave to monetary gains.
  • Am I willing to give up friends?  Maybe a few of my friends are a negative influence in my life.
  • Am I willing to give up my favorie extracurricular activity?  Maybe less time at work so I have more time to devote to the Chuch.
  • Am I willing…

Daily Devotional for Feb 3, 2016

I have been coming across some excellent quotes from my morning devotionals. The first one comes from Joyce Meyers – Hearing from God Each Morning
“Don’t make serious decisions without waiting to make sure true peace abides within you.”
There was a time when I was working out and 3 miles into my run, I had a “vision” on what my future should be like. I let my mind and imagination take me to places that were exciting. I was so excited and could not wait for all this this to come to fruition. By the next day as I was getting ready for my day, I start to really evaluate all that I was thinking yesterday. It was only then that I realized that everything I was “excited” for would have had a negative affect on all the wonderful things I have already done in my life (personal and professional). I learned a valuable lesson that day. Take your time and examine your heart and mind to its deepest part to know if what you are thinking/feeling is coming from the lord. Talk to Him…ask HIM…
The Second quote comes from podcast on Jan 7 from Rick Warren.
Worry, lust, revenge is a misuse of your imagination
We cannot imagine how great he is, how much he loves you, cannot imagine what heaven is like. Think about things that are pure, love and admirable.
This really complements the first quote. The Lord wants us to use our imagination…we just have to use it in the right way.
Have a good day…God Bless and may the Lord use us all to create change in this world.

Earthy Opinions

Came across this on my Facebook wall. It was something I posted in 2013. Still rings true today. I still have a hard time with worrying what people think about me. It’s sad that in this time of my life when I am blessed with so much that I still even worry about what people say. Something I need to really focus on.

I know what really matters yet I still worry about the wrong things. Anyone else struggling with this?

Have a great weekend. God Bless!
