Why be an undercover Christian? Live life!
It’s freezing here in Manila. Not USA mainland cold by a long shot but A good break from the heat on Guam. Happy New Years to all my brothers and sisters in Christ. May our lord continue to bless you and your loved ones.
How was your New Years in your part of the word?
I cannot control other people’s actions. I cannot control their thoughts. I can only control how I respond to them. I can lean on the lord’s word in times of worry and despair. I need to worry less in things I have no control over and take the reins on things I have been given authority over.
My father has been the single biggest influence on my life. He taught me the meaning of being a man. He showed thru his actions that hard work does not mean being able to rest and slack off when you get home. The effort you put in at home should be equal to how hard you worked in the office. My childhood is filled with memories of my dad coming home at 5:30 pm and taking me to the courts to play until 9:00 pm. Never mind if he was tired from a long day at work. He always made me feel like i mattered. This is something i strive to do with my family today. If i can do it half as good as my father, my family will be in great shape. I know how much my father love me. I know how much i love my kids. All the love we have for one another does not compare to the love the lord as for us!!! how great is that!!!
The last few months have been tough. My father has seen his two brothers leave us and be with the good lord above. He tries to be brave but you can hear the sadness in his voice. I want my father to be happy. He deserves to be happy.
About 10 years ago, my father recorded a bunch of songs in english and filipino. When i played his old CD for him, I saw him smile and take joy in hearing them again. It was then i heard happiness in his voice once again. I would like to share is songs with you. Hug your fathers and tell them you love them.
When people see my life, I want them to see a Christian. I want them to see love and hope. I want the Holy Spirit to use my life to effect positive change in someone else’s life. I have always said that I am not the perfect Christian. I search for Christ always and thats the best that I can do.
WHAT ABOUT YOU? Are people happy that you are in their lives? Do you bring them happiness? Is joy and happiness present when you are around? Do you always try to make it a point to hurt people with your words? Are you a burden or a tool for Christ? These are questions that we need to answer honestly.
The world is full with negativity. The last thing we need is more of it. I challenge all readers of this blog to answer this question honestly:
AM I HURTING OR HELPING THE KINGDOM BY THE WAY I TALK?
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I challenge you to be an inspiration to everyone in your life. Talk them up, not down. Lift their spirits and not their worries. Plain and simple…let us all stop using our words as knives.
