Why do we record ourselves helping others?

Spent the weekend in Atlanta for the Joel Osteen, Night of Hope. Walking back to the hotel, I noticed someone giving a couple of dollars to a homeless person. I then noticed a person next to him recoding the whole thing. After “donating” the person looks at the camera, smiles and throws a peace sign. They then place the camera in front of the man who just got a couple of dollars.

Was this really necessary? I am sure the person receiving the money is grateful, but I can’t stop thinking he would want some dignity as well. PJSLB.

My hope is in you

Lord, you are my everything. I am not perfect but in you, I am.

The joys my mini (doxies) dachshund bring

Had to share a picture of brownie and cookie this morning. The joys they bring out family is such a blessing!!!

What thoughts are you feeding in your head?

My three passions during my free time are polar opposites. On one end, we have watching TV. From sports to reality TV, I love watching it and definitely love binge watching. On the other end of the spectrum, I love reading. As early as the 5th grade, I loved reading Sidney Sheldon (as evident with me owning every book he has written. Finally, I love writing. I love writing in journals. This is something that I stared doing in 2004 and today I have volumes of books. Its really fun to read back on past entries and read about what I was going thru.

One thing I noticed in my journals is that my writings were following my feelings and my feelings were being influenced by what I was currently watching/reading. For example, I noticed on the months that I focused on reading the Bible’s daily from beginning to the end, my writings were full of love and admiration for Jesus. To be honest, its been awhile since I have done something like that. I will say that having something like this blog has been keeping my mind on God. People tell me that needthespirit has been a blessing for them. In reality, needthespirit has been the blessing I needed to keep my mind focus on God. Have a great day everyone. God Bless. PJSLB
