Notes on Armor Of God

Ephesians 6:10-18New International Version (NIV)

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

My Notes:

Integrity. Integrity does not meaning perfection. Don’t appear different way to different people. You cannot have a business personality, a family personality, a friends personality, etc.  A Christian is the same regardless on who is is interacting with.  What you see is what you get.

Righteous. Purity of heart. Keeping my motive clear and clean. Even if you do the wrong thing, you wanna do the right thing. Have pure motives.

Peace. The gospel of peace. Peace with God, myself, and fellow people. Serenity is working and living peace.

Certainty. Certainty is faith. Trust God when all is going wrong in life. The more I love Gods word the less I worry about earthly problems. Gods truth is whether you believe it or not.

Integrity is attacked with lies. Righteousness and purity is attacked with lust. Peace and serenity will be attacked with worry.

Salvation. Protect your mind. Sanity. Protect your mind from evil thoughts.

Maturity is using the bible against the devil.

Spirit. The word of God is our weapon.

We are to live peace and speak it. We want to live peace but not speak it. share Jesus with others.

Fiery darts of the devil
Doubt. Did God really say that?
Discouragement.

Prayer is how we fight the battle with the devil.

Today, Joy Was In My Fathers Voice.

My father has been the single biggest influence on my life.  He taught me the meaning of being a man.  He showed thru his actions that hard work does not mean being able to rest and slack off when you get home.  The effort you put in at home should be equal to how hard you worked in the office.  My childhood is filled with memories of my dad coming home at 5:30 pm and taking me to the courts to play until 9:00 pm.  Never mind if he was tired from a long day at work.  He always made me feel like i mattered.  This is something i strive to do with my family today.  If i can do it half as good as my father, my family will be in great shape.  I know how much my father love me.  I know how much i love my kids.  All the love we have for one another does not compare to the love the lord as for us!!! how great is that!!!

The last few months have been tough.  My father has seen his two brothers leave us and be with the good lord above.  He tries to be brave but you can hear the sadness in his voice.  I want my father to be happy.  He deserves to be happy.

About 10 years ago, my father recorded a bunch of songs in english and filipino.  When i played his old CD for him, I saw him smile and take joy in hearing them again.  It was then i heard happiness in his voice once again.  I would like to share is songs with you.  Hug your fathers and tell them you love them.

Be Careful What We Say.

36372-Be-Careful-What-You-Say

When people see my life, I want them to see a Christian.  I want them to see love and hope.  I want the Holy Spirit to use my life to effect positive change in someone else’s life.  I have always said that I am not the perfect Christian.  I search for Christ always and thats the best that I can do.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?  Are people happy that you are in their lives?  Do you bring them happiness?  Is joy and happiness present when you are around?  Do you always try to make it a point to hurt people with your words?  Are you a burden or a tool for Christ?  These are questions that we need to answer honestly.

The world is full with negativity.  The last thing we need is more of it.  I challenge all readers of this blog to answer this question honestly:

AM I HURTING OR HELPING THE KINGDOM BY THE WAY I TALK?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I challenge you to be an inspiration to everyone in your life.  Talk them up, not down.  Lift their spirits and not their worries.  Plain and simple…let us all stop using our words as knives.

What Is Your Favorite Bible Verse?

I was in the 6th grade and i gave my life over to Jesus.  It was a scary time because i was afraid to tell my parents that I am now a Christian.  Actually, it wasn’t until college when I was finally able to tell them about my faith in Christ.  I cannot tell you the exact time and day that i was saved.  I can tell you what was the first verse that i ever memorized.  Back then (and today) this was a verse that spoke to me.  It was everything that i was looking for all nicely wrapped up in just a few words.  It was a reminded that with Jesus ANYTHING is possible.  It spoke to the inner child in me.  A child seeking something from his father.  Recently, my daughter asked me what was my favorite bible verse.  With that question, Matthew 7:7 and how it held my faith together at such a young age was brought back into the family.
