Being called by God

Being called by God is something that every Christian seeks. To be told exactly what to do, when to do, how to do it is something we all want. At least, we think that.

The truth is that when God comes, we all get scared and do the opposite. It becomes too real. It becomes too hard. What if these three men did not listen and search for Jesus? The wrong is often hard but the result is always worth it. PJSLB

When it’s time to walk away from a loved one

I thank you lord for allowing us the opportunity to put ourselves ahead of others when the time calls for it.

In any relationship there always comes a time when you need to walk away for your benefit. It’s one thing to stick around during the good times and bad. It’s another when your mental, physical, and/or spiritual well being is being harmed.

The day I stopped wearing a mask

I always assumed that I needed to be “on point” when surrounded by people. I would always says and do the right things. It was tiresome. I finally realized the secret to all this (including) keeping my sanity was to be the same if you’re with one person or twenty. Better yet, be that same person even if you are just by yourself. Be genuine. God made us unique for a reason. PJSLB

Why do we record ourselves helping others?

Spent the weekend in Atlanta for the Joel Osteen, Night of Hope. Walking back to the hotel, I noticed someone giving a couple of dollars to a homeless person. I then noticed a person next to him recoding the whole thing. After “donating” the person looks at the camera, smiles and throws a peace sign. They then place the camera in front of the man who just got a couple of dollars.

Was this really necessary? I am sure the person receiving the money is grateful, but I can’t stop thinking he would want some dignity as well. PJSLB.
